Maester Wen Kinoc is character created by Square Soft for the game Final Fantasy X. Though a side character, he appears several times in the game and is a catalyst for several plot points. Square literature indicates that he was in mid thirties during gameplay. He is a central character in Legendary Guardian, a motivational character in Bonds of Love, and also appears in Braska's Journey.

Game information tells that Kinoc and Auron were friends before Auron left with Braska on Pilgrimage. The extent of their relationship is unknown. A "sphere" indicates that Auron and Kinoc were both up for promotion and that Kinoc won the day, becoming second in command at Bevelle Temple. During this sphere Kinoc is outfited in standard issue Warrior Monk dress and has a beard. Later, when Auron encourters him at the Mushroom Rock battle site, Kinoc has been elevated to Maester. He wears the robes of office, inquires as to Auron's whereabouts over the last ten years, and looks much different than he did in his youth. Auron seems surprised to see him and is particularly surprised by his status in the church.

Within the context of my stories, Kinoc is a close friend to Auron from a very early age. Son of Wen Inek, High Priest of Bevelle Temple, he is groomed from his birth for a political career. Meeting in their youth at the temple, the two become like brothers and spend a large amount of time at each others homes. Auron's relationship with Kinoc and Kinoc's family becomes a critical part of his life and motivates a large amount of the plot in my stories. How? You'll have to read to find out.

Being a trained Warrior Monk before his elevation, I give Wen Kinoc abilities similar to Auron. His primary weapon is a broadsword. I did not give Kinoc the benefit of overdrives like Auron's but I make the assumption that he has quite a bit of magic at his disposal given his later elevation in the clergy. Once raised to Maester, I assume that he would have quite a bit of white magic at his command in addition to his former fighting skills and any political abilites he posesses.
